Almost another check!

Ok... I am ALMOST ready to book my DJ.  I have narrowed it down to two. What was everyone's criteria on a Dj? I thought I wanted a young, fun, outgoing guy and I seem to only be finding older men.....? Is this common!?

Ready to get this off my to-do list though!

Re: Almost another check!

  • The older dj's most likely have more experience.  My DJ is older but has a younger guy working with him.

I wanted someone who has a fun personality, engaging and that I could see in action so I know exactly what I will be getting.  I saw my DJ in action at a bridal show.  Also I wanted to be able to make a do not play list.
  • I just wanted someone who wouldn't make the party about himself... I don't want him to over MC, if you know what I mean. So I didn't want a huge personality, which I was able to find. Professional, experienced.

  • Our reception is earlier in the day (2-6:30) and nobody can leave.  I wanted a DJ who was going to play crowd friendly songs that won't upset my grandparents.

I really wanted somebody who could read the crowd and not play a lot of the typical group dances and such.  They have a do not play list or "stale" as they call it to go along with their toast theme lol.  It makes me laugh!  I'll add the list incase anybody wants to look at it lol.  I love them.

<div>This is exactly what I looked for as well. Check reviews, ask around, as long as you feel comfortable then go for it.</div>

  • We wanted a club like atmosphere for our wedding. So we hired club DJ's. They have wedding experience and know that for some of the evening they will have to entertain all music tastes, but I'm really looking forward to later in the evening when they play the dancey music.

  • I don't want club remixes and dub step at my wedding. Most of the you get guys seem to play a lot of that... I want a large range of music too... Zydeco, hip hop , country, rock, rap basically everything except heavy metal... And a wide range of years. Personally I think the older guys have more experience but that bein said the company I am going with has a mix of older and younger guys ...

I want someone who can keep the party going and can play dance music that everyone will dance to, but even the older people at my wedding will get down to new stuff and vice versa

  • I looked for someone who had perfect feedback from references and review sites, first and foremost. When we met our dj, he was just so fun to be around that we knew he'd be a hit at the reception. Good luck with your decision!!!
